Which one will you choose?
With UMC health insurance, you can choose from two basic insurance policies:
- ‘UMC Ruime Keuze’ (wide choice) is the most affordable basic insurance policy.
- ‘UMC Eigen Keuze’ (own choice) is the basic insurance policy that offers the most freedom of choice.
With UMC Eigen Keuze, you are entitled to care in kind for mental healthcare and nursing & care. You will then receive 85% reimbursement from healthcare providers without a contract. For all other types of care, the insurance is based on a return premium. This means you are always well insured. With the UMC Zorg app, you can submit claims quickly and easily and always have everything related to your insurance at your fingertips.
The amount of the excess is determined by the government. For 2025, this is €385. This means that you pay the first €385 of most healthcare costs yourself before they are reimbursed by your basic insurance. You can choose to increase your excess to a maximum of €885. This will lower your premium, but it also means that you will pay a larger portion of your healthcare costs yourself.
Insurance premiums 2026
The health insurance premiums for 2026 have been announced.
You can cancel your supplementary insurance or health insurance until 31 December 2025. You can adjust your insurance, such as your excess or supplementary insurance, until 31 January 2026.
Additional packages with discount
With UMC Health Insurance, you can choose from five supplementary insurance policies. From a small package with less comprehensive cover to a package with generous reimbursements for physiotherapy, alternative care, glasses/contact lenses and more. Of course, you always benefit from a 10% collective discount.
