Calculate your income
The remuneration you receive comes in the form of a salary, but may also include allowances for irregular working hours or benefits from the government. What happens to your benefits if you start working more or less, for example?
The online tool Working Hours Calculator (WerkurenBerekenaar) helps you work out how many more hours of work will ultimately yield a net gain. This concerns your total income, including, for example, tax credits and allowances. The tool, designed by NIBUD, assumes that you pay 50% pension contributions in accordance with the PFZW pension scheme. Umc employees pay a lower pension contribution of 30% and higher contribution percentages at ABP. The calculation will therefore differ slightly. However, it does provide a good insight into the net difference (taking into account tax allowances, such as rent and healthcare allowances, etc.) resulting from working more (or fewer) hours. For the question: ‘What is the percentage you pay in pension contributions?’, you should therefore enter: 30%.
