Physically demanding occupations regulations for umcs

The Physically demanding occupations regulations for University Medical Centres ensures that employees in certain professions can stop working three years before reaching state pension age. If you and your employer disagree about the application of the Physically demanding occupations regulations, you can take your case to a disputes committee.

The umcs and trade unions have agreed on which professions are covered by the Physically demanding occupations regulations. The regulations are temporarily in force until 1 January 2026.

Disputes Committee

It may happen that you and your employer disagree on the application of the regulations. UMCNL and the trade unions have therefore jointly agreed to set up a Disputes Committee for this purpose, comprising representatives from both the trade unions and the UMCs. The Disputes Committee will make a final decision on cases.

The committee consists of three members, including an independent chairperson. There are also substitute members and a substitute chairperson.

  • Cees Loonstra (independent chairperson)
  • Bram de Klerck (deputy independent chairperson)
  • Arthur Warmer, FNV (member representing employees)
  • Heleen de Boer, FBZ (deputy member representing employees)
  • Bart Vrijaldenhoven, Radboudumc (member representing employers)
  • Cees Knottnerus (deputy member representing employers)

How do you appeal to the Disputes Committee?

If you disagree with a decision made by your manager regarding the scheme, you can submit an objection to the Disputes Committee. The Disputes Committee will then advise your umc on the dispute. The committee’s internal regulations explain how to submit an objection.
