Name change: NFU becomes UMCNL!

From November onwards, we will be operating under a new name. A name that better reflects who we are: the collective of university medical centres in the Netherlands.

The seven umcs in the Netherlands occupy a unique place in the Dutch healthcare landscape. A place where we combine healthcare, education and science. Where there is room for innovation and where we are able to find answers to complex issues. Whether that concerns a single patient with a rare condition or the health of everyone in the Netherlands.

The new name is a logical step in a development that has been ongoing for some time: the umcs want to collaborate more intensively – with each other and with partners – and we want to present a more unified front to the outside world. In the joint strategy we launched at the beginning of the year, we made a clear decision to take on some of our activities as a collective, from a single joint source. That source is UMCNL.
